Thiago Martins de Melo (1981, São Luís, MA) takes part in Remédios: Where new land might grow, a group show at the C3A – Centro de Creación Contemporánea de Andalucía in Córdoba, Spain. Curated by Daniela Zyman.
Organized with works from the TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary collection, the exhibition reflects on healing and repair as collective and social processes. Martins de Melo presents the work Exu force power (2012), in which the artist presents icons related to the entity present in religions of African matrix and symbols linked to the representations of Eshu from the point of view of Catholicism and syncretism.
The exhibition will be on view until March 31, 2024.
