Instituto Tunga
A Catalogue Raisonné of Tunga's two-dimensional works will be edited and published by Cahiers d'Art with free online access. The book is being prepared by the institute responsible for the artist's legacy.
Tunga Catalogue Raisonné will compile drawings, photographs, engravings, and textile works by the artist. This will be the first-ever bilingual publication by the French publishing house, which has also produced the catalogues raisonnés of Pablo Picasso and Frank Gehry, as well as monographs on Alexander Calder, Henri Matisse, Man Ray, and Marcel Duchamp.
The Instituto Tunga will host two lectures with its founders, Antônio Mouro and Clara Gerchman, along with the team involved in the project, to discuss the cataloging, preservation, and dissemination of the artist's legacy. The first event will take place on Thursday, August 22, at 2 pm, at FGV in Rio de Janeiro. The second lecture will be held on Tuesday, August 27, at 11 am, at UFRJ, also in Rio, featuring Paulo Venâncio Filho and Felipe Scovino. Learn more in stories.
