Threads to the South | Institute for Studies on Latin American Art – ISLAA, New York, USA, 2024

Feliciano Centurión, Gustavo Caboco and Lidia Lisbôa are participating in Threads to the South, an exhibition currently on view at the Institute for Studies on Latin American Art – ISLAA, in New York, USA.

Curated by Anna Burckhardt Pérez, the show considers the medium of fiber as a conceptual tool for exploring the relationship between belonging, identity, and territory in Latin America.

The show includes the pieces Ela me visitou: Fios da memória Wapichana, 2021, by Gustavo Caboco and Lucilene Wapichana, in addition to a work from the series Tetas que deram de mamar ao mundo, 2022, by Lisbôa, both acquired by the ISLAA earlier this year. They add to the collection of embroidered works by Centurión that was already part of the institute's collection.

On view through July 27.
