Lais Myrrha (1974, Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil) participates in the exhibition Rituales de lo cotidiano at Collegium in Arévalo, Spain, with the work Política de varanda.
In this commissioned work, Myrrha creates a superimposition of the modernist pattern of the Itamaraty Palace in Brasilia on the arches of the Iglesia de San Martin, the Collegium's location. The work collapses time and space: Brasilia, Oscar Niemeyer's iconic modernist city, superimposed on the Spanish chapel.
Curated by Clara M. Kim, the exhibition uses the environment of Arévalo as its starting point. On display until September.
