Abstração: a realidade mediada
Curated by Rodrigo Naves, the group show Abstração: a realidade mediada brings together 9 artists with established careers and reflects on the limits and meanings of the concept “abstraction”. Naves explore the theme through geometry with works by Cassio Michalany (1949, SP), Paulo Pasta (1959, SP), and Renata Tassinari (1958, SP); paintings that refer to organic forms with Helena Carvalhosa (1938, SP) and Germana Monte-Mór (1958, RJ); by drawing, represented by Paulo Monteiro (1961, SP) and Elizabeth Jobim (1957, RJ); and sculpture, with works by Nelson Felix (1954, RJ) and Laura Vinci (1962, RJ).
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog with reproductions of the works, an essay by the curator, and a text by German art historian Robert Kudielka.
