Maya Weishof has been selected to Cité Internationale des Arts’ residency
Paris, France

Os outros e o fim de tarde, 2021
Galeria Millan congratulates Maya Weishof for being selected for a residency at Cité Internacionale des Arts in Paris, France.
The paintings by Maya Weishof (1993, Curitiba, PR, Brazil) gain volume and affirm themselves in space as they are executed on soft surfaces such as pillows, portals or curtains. In these paintings, the comic aspect of caricatured figures blends with the erotic and the grotesque in ritualistic scenes in which no perception is confirmed. Rather, they are situations seen by a dancing body, and thus the gaze is pulverized on the lines and figures in motion, a character intensified by the vibrant chromatic play.
