On July 29th, the second Pavilhão Maxwell Alexandre [Maxwell Alexandre Pavilion] will be inaugurated in Rocinha, a favela in Rio de Janeiro where Maxwell Alexandre (1990) was born and raised.
In this space in Rocinha, Maxwell presents the series "Entrega: one planet. one health," featuring fictional scenes of a group of public school students working as food delivery workers. The paintings depict the students' involvement in a sequence of events that lead to the hunting, beating, dismemberment, and devouring of Dino, a green dinosaur who is Danone's mascot.
Entrega: one planet. one health was launched in June at Cahiers d'Art, an institution in Paris, France, which will also publish a book about the series.
The first Pavilhão Maxwell Alexandre was opened in São Cristóvão in April and received over 6,000 visitors in a three-month period. The second one, in turn, is the first contemporary art gallery in Rocinha.
