After the passage at Museo de Arte de Zapopan, in Mexico, the exhibition Cerámica Suro: a Story of Collaboration, Production, and Collecting in the Contemporary Arts arrives at Dallas Contemporary, in Texas, USA. The show is curated by Viviana Kuri and brings together works belonging to Colección Marcela y José Noé Suro.
In the exhibition, Thiago Martins de Melo presents Amazonian Bordunas, which title refers to the indigenous fighting instrument. A meta-narrative scheme transits between techniques from realist and expressionist painting, recurring images from mass culture and art history; a visual continuity that finds its referral in colonial conflicts updated in different features.
