Pocket Painting
By
Davi Arrigucci Jr.

Bounded in a nutshell and, even still, imagining yourself as the king of the infinite might be more than just a dream of Hamlet’s. It is perhaps every artist's tempting quest: that the unlimited fit into the minimal. Paulo Pasta, with an eye on the present, but a reserved painter of timeless columns, dares to condense the infinitely large into the infinitely small, almost like a concrete and concentrated image of life in summary. The poetry that always accompanies his subtle traces in the interweaving of colors in unspeakable contrast, returns again to remind us that pocket painting can also be, just as in a poem, the art of compressing in a favorable instant the whole into one.
